• They have to go somewhere. Golf balls just don’t disappear when you hit them into the woods, or the river, or the pond, or the lake, or the ocean… or wherever you are inevitably going to slice, hook, top, or scull them. They slowly disintegrate according to scientists, releasing some not-so-nice stuff into the waters, or woods, or… wherever. NPR recently carried an eye-opening story about a young diver off the coast of California who discovered thousands upon thousands of golf balls in the ocean.
