A special day of golf and golf history is being offered by John Capers III, noted historian of the famed Merion Golf Club. Capers will join three golfers for a tour of the clubhouse, complete with its treasured archives, book collection and trophy case, including items from Bobby Jones’ historic victory in the 1930 U.S. Amateur on his way to the Grand Slam.
Lunch follows on the club’s gracious “upper terrace,” steps away from the first tee. The lucky three guys (ladies?) will then proceed, with their caddies, to the practice range for a warm-up before a round on Merion’s famous East Course, renovated in 2018. Finally, relive the day and augment those memories with cocktails after the round.
