It’s wonderful to be back in Ireland, especially with the prospect of playing at Portmarnock Golf Club again. In my story, Perfect Peninsula, I’m sharing much of why Portmarnock is so highly revered and why it is so special to me.

In advance of our planned trip up to Dublin soon, we’ve had a great run of watching outstanding tournament golf on the telly. Avid golfers all over the planet had the pleasure of seeing Jon Rahm win the U.S. Open at Torrey Pines in California, while Nelly Korda won her maiden major victory at the Women’s PGA Championship at the Atlanta Athletic Club in Georgia.

The Irish Open at Mount Juliet produced an Australian winner, Lucas Herbert. It was Jon Rahm hoisting the trophy when it was played here at Lahinch in 2019. Quite an impressive run of triumphs since then has sent the Spaniard to the World No. 1 ranking!
