Tad Moore hickories available to rent at Pinehurst resort courses

GHS member, co-founder of the Society of Hickory Golfers, and golf entrepreneur Tad Moore has made a name for himself in golf. First with his award-winning putter designs (Ian Woosnam won the Masters with one of them) and later with replica hickory clubs that are so good, Sandy Lyle used them to win two World Hickory Championships as well as the occasional round at Augusta National. Moore should be pleased now that, in an arrangement with the Pinehurst Golf Resorts, sets of his OA clubs are available to rent for those who would like to try a hickory golf experience.

Writer Shaun Tolson described the new arrangement on The Morning Read, as well as his own experience with hickories on the No. 3 course at the famous resort. Click here to see his story on The Morning Read. (By the way, golf writer and journalist Geoff Shackelford also noted the new deal with hickories at Pinehurst and put a note on his website at www.geoffshakelford.com.)

It’s great to read about hickory golf making inroads here and there. It’s a fun sport, so why not? The SoHG and the GHS are happy for Tad, too, as his unflagging support of hickory golf and both societies helps the sport, and golf collecting, grow.
