Many dozens of golf clubs in the U.S. have a rich and storied history and more than a few have dedicated historians/archivists, like the GHS’ own John Capers III at Merion. Southern Hills CC in Tulsa, Okla., is the latest to prepare a new display that chronicles and celebrates the club’s history.

From the article’s introduction: The storied Tulsa, Okla. club developed its new History, Trophy and Founders’ Halls over the past six years, to chronicle its rich championship golf legacy and key role in the city’s growth. While the pandemic has delayed the displays’ unveiling, club leaders are looking forward to the extra excitement they will provide upon reopening, and for years to come.
