GHS member Renee Powell has received the 2020 Northern Ohio PGA Section Patriot Award. She has received numerous awards over the years and, along with her father, William, are the only father and daughter to be enshrined into the PGA of America’s Hall of Fame.

Powell continues to teach young people at her family’s Clearwater Golf Course in East Canton, Ohio, and works with veterans for PGA Hope.
As well, Powell was chosen to captain the 2021 U.S. Junior Solheim Cup team. Her team of the best junior golfers will meet a European team captained by Annika Sorenstam. The event is scheduled for Sept. 1-2 at Sylvania Country Club in Ohio, just prior to the Solheim Cup contest at Inverness Club.
