Doug Sanders, a 20-time winner on the PGA tour, passed away Sunday, April 12, at age 86. He came close to major victories, most famously missing a short putt for a win at the 1970 Open Championship at St Andrews only to lose in the following day’s playoff to Jack Nicklaus. Golf writer John Feinstein pays tribute to the legendary golfer in this article posted to Golf World. Sanders was the first golf interview for Feinstein. Click here to see his story.
