Golf Book Collecting
Uncover the Joy of Collecting
Why Collect Golf Books/Literature
There is so much information in books that is not to be found on the internet, let alone the pleasure of turning the pages, or the smell of those exquisite leatherbound editions, some even with gilt stamped covers or rare fore-edge paintings. And to organize these friends and admire them on the shelves.
Whether simply for the joy of reading them or the thrill of a new discovery while researching, books are the secret sauce that hard-core collectors of anything come to rely upon.
Value relates to demand, rarity, dust jackets, inscriptions/autographs and of course condition. It is not heresy to say that the historian or researcher need not obtain the most pristine examples for working copies. A number of rare books have been reprinted.
